Barack Obama in vintage colored wood. Parts of this monumental portrait (47 x 30 inches) are done in wood from Kenya. Planks from fishingboats, retrieved from the Mombasa coast last year. As you know, Obama´s father is from Kenya. Not the Mombasa region but close....The pinks are form wood found in an abandoned farm in the Californian desert. The rest is old to very old Dutch wood....
Oudhout has participated participate in an exhibition of Obama portraits in the Manifest Hope Gallery in Denver, during the Democratic Convention at the end of August 2008.
