Charles H. ´Chuck´ Taylor was a professional basketbal player during the pre-NBA days of pro barnstorming days. He joined Converse in 1918 and lent his expertise to the redesign of the basketbal shoe. tylor´s signature waas added to the Converse shoe in 1923. By 1931 the All-Star had evolved to its current design, wich features a #10 duck cloth, loose-lined upper, and vulcanized rubber outsole.  (source: American Style.
